David Sexton

David is 35 and resides in the Hills District of Sydney. He is married with three girls (Tahlia, Kiara & Briony) and is the General Manager for Moore Stephens Sydney West.

So why did David initiate the Youngcare Walk...."My passion for the cause is on a very personal level having someone close to me who is in their 30's and in a position where they may be living in aged care. When I saw the 60 Minutes story about Youngcare, it was astounding to know that so many other young Australians are either already living in aged care or soon will be, as there are not facilities providing relevant lifestyles for young people with high care needs. I feel so privileged to be able to raise awareness and funds for Youngcare and share in the vision of Youngcare Apartments for NSW residents."

Troy McPhee

Troy is 34 and also lives in the Hills District of Sydney. He is married with 3 children (Rhys, Laryssa & Brady) and is a Financial Planner with Avenue Capital Management.

His reasons for walking...."When I started talking to others about Youngcare, I was really surprised to discover just how many people have a family member or friend in need of this type of assistance. If it only takes a few ordinary people to walk from Canberra to Sydney as a way to raise funds and increase the profile of this worthwhile cause, then 10 days of walking is a small price to pay for a lifetime of benefit."

Andy Kirk

Andrew is 34 and lives in Mortlake with his wife and four kids (Davis, Bronte, Austin, Charlie). He is the General Manager of PR firm Hill & Knowlton.

So why is Andrew involved with the Youngcare Walk.... "You only have to hear some of the stories, or talk to those affected and it is easy to want to get involved, to make a difference. I have a very real and personal passion for getting involved. I have two people, a relative and a close mate who are both battling MS. Their and their family's attitude to life is the inspiration that drives me. I hope that this walk will raise awareness and of course the much needed monies to build the much needed facility!!!"
